AVO Compliance and Education Program including Anger Management
The Rural Outreach & Support Service (ROSS) is dedicated to promoting safety, respect, and responsibility within our community. Our AVO Compliance and Education Program, which includes Anger Management, is designed to assist individuals in the Inverell, Glen Innes, Tenterfield, and Warialda areas who are required to comply with Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs).
Our approach is educational, supportive, and transformative. We aim to help individuals understand the terms of their AVOs, the consequences of non-compliance, and the underlying issues that may contribute to violent behaviour, such as unmanaged anger.
Our services are designed to provide individuals with the tools and resources they need to comply with their AVOs and make positive changes in their lives. They include:
AVO Compliance Education: We provide clear, easy-to-understand information about AVOs, including what they are, why they are issued, and what the terms of an AVO mean. We also explain the legal consequences of not complying with an AVO.
Anger Management: Our Anger Management program is designed to help individuals understand and manage their anger in a healthy and productive way. The program includes strategies for recognising triggers, calming down, and expressing anger appropriately.
Support and Advice: Our team provides support and advice to help individuals navigate their situation. This can include assistance with understanding the legal system, accessing community resources, and developing a plan for personal growth and change.
Referral Service: We have established partnerships with a range of service providers and can refer clients to these services for additional support. This includes referrals to counselling services, legal aid, and specialised domestic violence services.
