Governance

The Rural Outreach and Support Service is governed by a dedicated Management Committee consisting of nine members. This committee is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring that we adhere to our mission of providing a safe, secure, confidential, and caring environment for individuals and families in need.

Our funding is primarily sourced from the Department of Communities and Justice, with whom we have a Funding Deed and Program Level Agreement. This agreement sets out our service delivery targets and financial obligations, ensuring that we remain accountable to our funders and, most importantly, to the communities we serve.

Our operations are guided by a comprehensive Strategic and Operational Plan, which outlines our vision, mission, aims, and key milestones. This plan is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community.

In terms of compliance, we adhere to strict reporting requirements, providing regular updates to the Department of Community and Justice. We also undergo an annual financial audit to ensure our financial operations are transparent and accountable.

We believe in the importance of continuous learning and improvement. As such, we participate in training on the Outcomes Framework, defined program outcomes, and suite of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This enables us to measure our performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance our service delivery.

We are also committed to achieving the Australian Service Excellence Standards (ASES) accreditation, a quality framework that helps community organizations like ours to improve their operations, boost team morale, and increase community confidence.

In all our governance practices, we strive to uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and transparency. We are proud to serve our community and are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Inverell, Glen Innes, Tenterfield, and Warialda areas.
